Turkey Hunting |
 Lately,
spring time has been a somewhat frustrating venture for spring turkey
hunters. The season and warm weather is coming earlier and earlier - we
had birds strutting in March this past season. That (at times) will make
conditions a bit tougher, as the hens are on a modified schedule which
then puts the toms back in commitment mode - to birds they've been on
for two months before the season opens.By two guides during the turkey season, we're literally on the road every morning and every evening making sure our boys are where they need to be so we can get you on them first thing after daylight. With the apprehensiveness of the birds later in their breeding season we're finding that the entire day - from false dawn to just about noon - is needed to fill those late season (for the birds) turkey tags. If you're up for it, and your trip is booked, we'd invite you scouting when we head out for either the evening roosting scout or the morning wake-up. Watch the birds move pre-season and we'll team up to bring him in close enough that we leave the decision up to you to bring home a tom for the 2011 season. And let's not forget - you CAN take a turkey with a bow - so don't be hesitant to challenger your skills and your confidence and think outside the box! |
