Waterfowl Hunting

There is nothing quite like waterfowl hunting. It's one of the more "extreme" outdoor sports (in our opinion) because first and foremost - inclement weather does not ruin your outing - it makes it better. Regardless of wind, rain, snow, sleet, or freezing rain, regardless of freezing cold temperatures, or the forecast of them to come, the results are the same. You literally get to peek into history and years of tradition and endure the weather - or lack thereof - and hope for the best. If your planning and scouting add together with proper stool placement, effective calling, and the work of an efficient yet productive dog, you're in for some of the best waterfowling experiences you've ever had.

We hunt several different areas in the State of New Hampshire, which depending on the season and prevailing weather conditions, will be in either the Connecticut River Valley, or the Great Bay located in Portsmouth New Hampshire. Earlier season days will include fantastic wood duck hunting with other species such as mallards, blacks, widgeon, and green winged teal being seen regularly. We also experience great numbers of Canada Geese as well however our focus is on ducks.

We pride ourselves on our tradition style and sense of waterfowl hunting. We hunt exclusively over cork blocks for numerous reasons. First and foremost is our commitment to the tradition of the sport. For ages, these blocks have lured in specie after specie. Secondly, their durability is second to none - whether the individual block or entire stool takes a load of shot, or they get stepped on, frozen, dropped, or just plain hunted hard, they take what we give them. Not only do they tolerate the hard charging attitude, they downright deserve it.

Second season tends to be a bit more "hard core" as we've heard people say. The weather is colder, the wind is stronger, the water is rougher, and the flocks are bigger. It can difficult to bring birds into range because of their sheer numbers, however this is where skilled and experienced calling comes into play.

Our passion is upland bird hunting - but we live to waterfowl hunt. Come experience a taste of history, enjoy the camaraderie, dog work, and close the day with a wonderful gourmet lunch.
